The RAVEN team's continued push to redefine and perfect the enthusiast tower chassis has resulted in yet another benchmark in the RAVEN RV03. With world-class cooling performance from the previous RAVEN chassis models retained by the included 180mm Air Penetrator fans, a rethinking of the interior layout enabled dramatic reduction in overall depth of the chassis compared to RAVEN RV02 while still matching RAVEN RV01's ability to accommodate Extended ATX motherboard and graphics cards longer than 13 inches. Cable management was also improved with a new 5cm thick hard drive compartment to allow nearly all cables to be connected behind the motherboard tray with ease. An unconventional power supply compartment located in the lower front part of the chassis further add to facilitate cable routing so anyone can assemble a pristine looking system with maximum airflow efficiency. Once again Silverstone has employed the 90-degree motherboard mounting to allow heat dissipation in a natural vertical alignment.Since beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder, I will leave the exterior case judgment to you. I will say that I prefer the more austere look of the Raven-02e and I question why gold was the choice of the accenting color on the 03. The overall form of the case has been altered as well- Silverstone has shortened the case slightly to reduce size and weight. In this regard, I again, prefer the Raven 02e as the new case appears slightly "stubby" with the reduced form. However, despite the trimming, the case can now support extended ATX motherboards- a feat the Raven-02 cannot match. Because of the location of the psu and the way the cables face the back and the mounting of the hard drives along the backside, even if you are the worst at cable management, this design will force it to look nice. The drive power cables don't have to make an appearance on the front at all. Even though it lacks grommets that some of the fancier cases have I don't mind. I really like the huge 180mm fans and the airflow. The 90 degree angle is amazing and I really think this is the way to go for a variety of reasons. Airflow is more natural and even the strain on the board is more natural when it's 90 degrees.I like the way the cables come out the top and route through the back. The only complaint is the usb3 cabling which is kinda odd. You basically connect to the external jacks to get it out the front. Okay that's a bit over the top, but accurate - this is a GREAT case. Tons of room, brilliant layout, quality construction.The 90 degree angle motherboard layout makes all the cables that would normally be stuck way down behind the machine, and awkward to access, come out the top of the case where you can easily plug and unplug them. This, combined with the relocation of the power supply to the bottom/front of the case means that the cables can be run almost entirely behind the motherboard, and out of the airflow. The combination of giant main fans on the bottom, and a smaller fan on the top of the case give it plenty of airflow, without being loud.
