After releasing the ground-breaking RAVEN RV01, the first retail chassis to utilize the 90 degree motherboard mounting layout, SilverStone's RAVEN team quickly went back to the drawing board to create another chassis with even more mass appeal. The resulting RAVEN RV02 is smaller, lighter, and higher performing. Compatibility with Extended-ATX motherboard and server level storage capacity were sacrificed in favor of a more compact dimension and consumer oriented design. Three custom designed 180mm fans and one 120mm fan are included in the RV02 to provide noise to cooling performance ratio that breaks existing benchmark for enthusiast chassis. I'm in and out of my case frequently, and the ability to see my connectors sounded really good.I received the case and was a bit stunned by just how big it is. Maybe that's because I've been packing my systems into mid-tower cases for years. Whatever the reason for my surprise, don't expect this to be a petite case. I had to remove and replace components several times because I was building like I did for my other cases. This isn't a good idea with the Raven 02. The manual shows component installation in a good order. That's the first time I've been able to say anything positive about a case manual! Particularly important is mounting your 3.5" drives before you install the motherboard. The cage won't come out when you have a full-sized ATX in there. Definitely the best case I've ever owned. Few cons, but enough to remove a star.Pros: The airflow in this case is amazing. The three 140mm fans have dust filters that do a wonderful job at preventing dust build up. These fans have two settings low and high. I keep mine on low all the time. I don't know why anyone would ever need to use the fans on high, unless you want to overclock to 5GHz. 90 Degree motherboard mounting. Lots of room for large graphics cards. Sheet metal is quality, definitely getting your moneys worth. All connectors plug into the top of the case which is much easier to do than plugging stuff into the side. Cons: Only two USB 3.0 front plugs, would be nice to have more. Power supply location requires your cables to be longer if you want to route cables behind the motherboard.
