The rackmount chassis provides your server a sturdy structure, reliability and performance. The 4U form factor chassis accepts 7 full-height expansion cards and 12"x9.6" ATX/Micro ATX motherboards. With 1 external 3.5" bay, 7 internal 3.5" bays, and 3 external 5.25" bays (1 internal 3.5" and external 3.5" Share), a total storage capacity up to 7 hard drives gives you more options of RAID configuration. Power and reset switches are in the front for easy access with a lockable cover to protect it from accidental touch . Also, the front panel has LED indicators for power and HDD, plus 2 USB ports and audio jacks for quick connection to external devices.

I consider myself a budget builder and don't have any specific needs in regards to case quality. This case is a worthy competitor to my more expensive case with the purpose it serves, but by no means is built to the same standard. This case was thin and flimsy when I first handled it, but once I got every thing inside and into the rack it became more ridged. The inside construct of this case also isn't perfect meaning everything doesn't line up perfectly, but its far from sloppy.What I like Most: The room inside, the fan coverage, and front audio jacks (for testing sound quality from a virtual media server) Minor Issues: Having to use the key to open and close the front access panel (I like having a knob there with the option to lock instead of just a key hole). I had the HTPC in a small case sitting on top of a Crown XLS-202 and wanted a cleaner look. This rack case fit the bill perfectly cheap and 4U's.This case is very cheaply made but there is quality where it counts. The front sides and back are made of decent metal but the internal parts are very flimsy and care is needed to not strip screws or bend the HD mounts. Tons of room for a big CPU cooler and full sized video cards. Im not using any of that right now but its nice to have the room. It's a fantastic case butthere were a number of mounting points where the screw holes were stripped out. Not so bad that things wouldn't stay put, but still more than I would expect. Still, lots of space for adding drives and full-sized PCI cards etc. |
